Billion Ringgit Project Cyberjaya City Centre Status Update #1

Cyberjaya’s future city centre is slowly taking shape. Read the latest updates here.

Cyberjaya City Centre (CCC) is an RM6 billion project that’s slowly taking shape in an area of 141 acres within Cyberjaya.

The project will be developed by Cyberview and SP Setia Berhad MRC Land Sdn Bhd which will feature commerical, residential and corporate office blocks. In my opinion, this seems to be a better direction for Cyberjaya instead of focusing too much to be “the next silicon valley” as we all know this doesn’t seem to work after the city was initiated close to 20 years ago.

The new city centre will be developed in 5 phases, and expected to be completed within the next 10-15 years. It will be based on “22nd century city” concept; where everything is integrated with the web and internet of things (IoT).

Where exactly is the city located? If you’re coming from LDP, take the first exit into Cyberjaya. Upon entering, you’ll see Sky Park project being built on your right. Continue driving and you’ll see the new city centre area has been fenced up to your left. I’m going to drop by in a few days to take some photos of the exact location.

Integrated transportation system should be one of the main focus areas of the project. If the KL-Singapore high speed train project becomes a reality, Cyberjaya will be one of the train stops serving this route. People will be relying a lot on efficient transportation systems within the next few years.

While most people still feel that Cyberjaya is still “far” from KL, others may not think so anymore as the city is now well connected to major expressways such as MEX. I don’t think 25 minutes is far considering there’s no major traffic along the way except during the morning rush hour when entering KL.

KLIA and KLIA2 is just less than 30 minutes away from Cyberjaya. This makes travel a breeze especially for businesses operating within this region.

Remember how Puchong was considered as not a place to be 20 years ago? New MRT stations are already being built there and most empty lands have been developed.

The same thing is bound to happen with Cyberjaya but of course, will be many times better.

Your information on Sp Setia developing CCC is not accurate. Sp Setia is not Cyberview’s JV partner anymore.
